Florida Keys Shark Fishing Boats

The boats we use for shark fishing very from one job to the next. Sometimes we need shallow and stealthy to stay traditional for a fishing client. The next time we need the versatility of our bay boats with trolling motors. Then, if folks want to bring more people and have some room to work with the center consoles are the ticket.

Bay Boats

Generally 20 - 24 ft in length and float is shallow enough water to chase the shalowest shark. Propelled by trolling motors (redneck push pole) from the bow your shark fishing guide will make sure he stays on top of the fish with dilligence. Trolling motors are a serious advantage for shark fishing as they offer our anglers more shots. Great for fly fishing, live baiting, artificial and drifting

Flats Boats

A traditional way to fish the flats and backcountry waters here in the Florida Keys and Key West. Flats boats range in size from 16 - 20 ft in length, they float in shallow waters and are propelled by the fishing guide from the rear where he stands on a platform spotting fish for the anglers to take shots at with flyfishing or spin fishing tackle. This is your best choice for fly fishing for shark in the May, June and July time frame. We do not reccomend any more than 2 persons on a flats boat as things get a bit crowded.

Center Consoles

Our center consoles are made for the comfort group in shark fishing the harbor here in Key West. Generally 28 - 34 ft in length with 2 engines these boats can be nice when its windy or if there are some in the group that like to sit and fish or listen to the tunes while they shark fish. A nice way to spend the day fishing in Style. Able to carry up to 6 persons they are a bit more expensive but worth the money if comfort is the key with some shade.
